Austin - Mary Rutledge

The death of Mrs. William Francis Austin occurred the evening of July 4, after a lingering illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Avery and Mr. Avery 116 Brown road, Scaradale, N.Y. Burial took place there in a beautiful little cemetery.

 
  Mary Alice Rutledge was born January 22, 1853, the daughter of Edward Crockett and Martha Rutledge.  She was a descendant of the Rutledge's of Revolutionary days.  One of them was the signer of the Declaration of Independence.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian church.

 
  She was married to William Francis Austin fifty-two years ago and their devotion to one another continued to the last.  They lived in Crawfordsville until two years ago when they went to spend their last years with their daughter.  Surviving are the husband, her daughter, Winifred, and several nephews and nieces.  Dr. Lloyd Davis of Crawfordsville is a nephew.
